UFC/Zuffa buys Strikeforce

Wow, what a crazy and surprising move by the owners of Zuffa/UFC. Strikeforce is the main (and really the only close) competition for the UFC in terms of other MMA companies. Since the UFC wants to become an organization as widely recognized and supported as the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, etc, they knew they had to make a big move and bump Strikeforce out of the competition. Well, Saturday they did just that. Zuffa bought out Strikeforce. Dana White has said that business will carry on as usual, and all of the Strikeforce contracts will be upheld and fulfilled. They will remain as two separate organizations, and no fighters will cross over [yet].

This leaves some intriguing questions. Will Fedor finally make it to the UFC and be prove he never deserved to be the Pound-For-Pound best or will he solidify that he deserves to hang with the big dogs? Will Paul Daley and Josh Barnett, long-time enemies of Dana White and the UFC, be kicked out of Strikeforce when their contracts are up? Will the UFC simply vanquish Strikeforce when their contracts are up? A lot to think about, but excellent move, in my opinion, by the UFC.
